Padua, culture mourns the passing of Vera Slepoj

Surprisingly, the entire world of national culture was saddened by the sudden death of Vera Slepoj.

Vera Slepoj’s contribution to Italian psychology and culture

Vera, graduated in Psychology in Padua and, although originally from Portogruaro, was adopted by the city of Padua as a psychologist, writer and also Councilor for Culture of the province of Padua. She was also President of the Italian Federation of Psychologists and of the International Health Observatory.

He gained national prominence by appearing on television programmes. And she, always very generous with journalists, has never shied away from interviews and consultancy. This even when the news required a focus on heinous crimes, social and disconcerting episodes or, simply, on facts of customs. For example, we report an interview in which Vera Slepoj analyzed the Sanremo Festival.

The reactions to his passing

Culture Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano said he learned the news of his death with great sorrow. He defined her as a “courageous woman, a scholar and psychologist of value, a writer and commentator who was able to investigate the human soul and our society with depth and wit”. The minister had asked her to be part of the MiC’s Superior Council of Cinema and Audiovisual.

Condolences also on the part of Luca Zaia who defined her as “Among the professionals who deserve credit for having brought psychology to universal familiarity, with careful and competent dissemination work in the media, as well as with the profession and academic activity.”
