Triathlon Grosseto – America for Fabia Maramotti – Grosseto Sport

Fabia Maramotti, a well-known Italian athlete, recently completed the Race Across The West challenge, starting from Oceanside, below Los Angeles. This grueling race of almost 1500 km tested Maramotti’s physical and mental endurance, while offering her an extraordinary and unforgettable experience.
From the first hours, the athlete had to deal with extremely difficult climatic conditions. The underestimation of the dry and desert heat turned out to be a serious mistake, in fact immediately after leaving California he suffered heatstroke, making the first hours of the race particularly challenging. Despite this, Maramotti did not give up, continuing to pedal through the night.
There were no shortage of physical difficulties: pain under the saddle, pressure and dermatitis caused by the scorching sun put the cyclist’s resistance to the test. Despite these obstacles, she maintained an unwavering determination.
One of the biggest challenges was faced at Monument Valley, where a violent sandstorm hit the athlete during the night, forcing her to take refuge in the logistical support camper for a few hours, waiting for the bad weather to subside. This moment of forced truce represented further proof of resilience for Maramotti.
The constant support of his team was fundamental to the athlete’s success. Led by Guido Petrucci and Michelangelo Biondi of Triathlon Grosseto, coach Stefano Massa and media manager Andrea Bauce, the staff provided invaluable assistance along the entire route.
The route itself proved to be a formidable opponent: headwinds, endless climbs and muscle pain accompanied every pedal stroke. With straight sections of 127 km without a bend, even a cycling champion would have found it difficult. Sleep management, divided into three or four 15-minute micro-sleeps during the day, was crucial to maintaining the energy needed to continue.
Despite all these difficulties, Fabia Maramotti completed the Race Across The West in just three days, taking the podium in both the overall women’s and under 50 categories. This extraordinary feat demonstrates not only Maramotti’s physical abilities, but also her mental strength. uncommon. An inspiration for all sports fans and
a testament to what can be achieved with determination and perseverance.
