In Pugliathe Consortium has collected 2,425,720 kg Of ELTs with 729 withdrawalsthus having achieved the expected objectives this year too.

Through the net ACI, of which EcoTyre has been a partner for years and carries out dedicated collection activities at car dismantlers, the Puglia region has managed 133,900 kg Of ELTs.

On the Consortium website, it is possible to have all information in real time on monthly collection data of Puglia and all other regions: there are constantly updated tables and graphs to verify the trend of withdrawals according to the parameters of the geographical area, the type of ELT and the tire dealers served.

“I am extremely satisfied with the results obtained by Puglia, because we have successfully exceeded the objectives of our collection plan. My heartfelt thanks to everyone for the commitment shown and the extraordinary goals achieved”, comment Enrico Ambrogio, President of EcoTyre. “EcoTyre continues on its path of improvement, focusing on the quality of services and innovation in the Circular Economy. But above all trying to maintain a balance between the efficiency of the widespread service, the adoption of cutting-edge sustainability solutions and the maintenance of adequate environmental eco-contributions”, concludes Ambrogio.

In addition to ordinary activities, thanks to the campaign “Zero ELTs”, EcoTyre carries out extraordinary collection events of ELTs dispersed in the environment, in collaboration with associations and volunteers. In over ten years, in Puglia, they have been carried out 19 special interventionsalso accompanied by communication and awareness-raising activities for combat waste abandonment and enhance the correct supply chain.

At the national level

In all Italian regions, they were managed as a whole 40,541,722 kg of ELTsthrough 17,564 withdrawals with an average weight each of 2,308 kg. All regions exceeded the annual collection target set by law, with a overall increase in collection points of 2 thousand units.

For 13 years, Ecotyre provides a widespread service and efficient throughout the Italian territory, from the Alpine municipalities to the smaller islandsensuring a Very high punctuality rate in collections: L’81.46% of timely withdrawals was carried out in urban areas and the 76.54% in peripheral areas.

ELT management is supported by 96 partners of EcoTyre, selected on the basis of sustainability criteria, with a preference for local companies and plants to reduce the kilometers traveled by ELTs.

All in all, EcoTyre has started the correct recovery of approximately 540 million kg of ELTsequivalent to approximately 72 million pieces which, if lined up, they would exceed the entire circumference of the Earth at the equator.

The consortium continues to have the national record for number of members Italian, European and international companies who rely on EcoTyre for the end-of-life management of new tires placed on the market every year (803 Associates).

The “From Gomma to Gomma” project

EcoTyre is the first company to have set itself the ambitious goal of complete the rubber circularity cyclethat is, to make it possible the use of rubber directly deriving from ELTs for the production of tires and other rubber products such as pipes, gaskets, bitumen and other objects. With this project several applications have been created demonstrating the economic and technological sustainability of the project.

They were traveled 1.5 million km of road to carry out the tests and between 2024 and 2028 the diffusion of these products throughout the EcoTyre fleet and promotion throughout the rubber supply chain is expected.
