BARI – The meteorological situation in Puglia continues to cause concern for the upcoming high temperatures, with particular attention in the coming days. The National Competence Center for the Prevention of the Effects of Heat on Health, Department of Civil Protection, has issued warning bulletins for our city, providing crucial information for the safety of citizens.
Alert bulletins
For Thursday 20 and Friday 21 June, the Center confirmed a Level 2 Alert level, focused on the potentially negative effects of high temperatures on the well-being of the population, in particular for the most vulnerable groups.
The attention intensifies on Saturday 22 June, with the issuing of a level 3 Alert, indicating Heat Waves. This alert level signals high risk conditions that continue for three consecutive days, requiring an even more incisive mobilization of social and health services to protect public health.
Recommended precautionary measures
Faced with these forecasts, it is essential that the community takes adequate precautions to mitigate the effects of extreme heat:
- Hydration: Drink abundantly even without feeling thirsty, preferring water and unsweetened drinks.
- Shelter from the Sun: Avoid direct exposure to the sun during the hottest hours, seeking refuge in cool, air-conditioned environments.
- Appropriate Clothing: Wear light, light and breathable clothing to promote body ventilation.
- Assistance for the Vulnerable: Pay particular attention to children, the elderly and people with chronic pathologies, guaranteeing them the necessary support and medical supervision.
