Regarding the cancellation of the White Night in Legnano due to bad weather, which created discontent among traders, the councilor with responsibility for Culture, Tourism and Events of the Municipality of Legnano, Guido Bragato, specifies: «The decision to postpone the “Night in the Center” was shared with the traders’ representatives, with whom the event was organized, obviously planned for some time. We understand, given the large number of businesses involved, that this was not a unanimous choice. From our part we confirm the administration’s absolute interest in an event that has now become traditional in the calendar of summer events in the city”.
This is demonstrated, underlines the councillor, by «the great work of the municipal offices involved – starting from the Events Office – and the 25 thousand euros committed again this year for Friday evening only, as part of an entire week of entertainment in the city centre. Faced with the risk of burning this sum, we couldn’t help but hold on account of the uncertain weather forecast, the only reason for the postponement. We would have had no doubt about the public’s response, in the wake of the success achieved in previous editions and of the “Night at the Opera”, which on Tuesday 18 June opened the events planned in Piazza San Magno with an excellent public response».
