Punta Campanella, here is the new buoy field between Isca and Crapolla
A brand new buoy field for the Marine Protected Area of Punta Campanella. Fourteen buoys will soon allow safe mooring compatible with the protection of the seabed and the seabed between the islet of Isca and the Crapolla fjord. A splendid, evocative area, also used by the director Paolo Sorrentino to shoot some scenes of the film “It was the hand of God”. An enchanting glimpse between the islet that belonged to Eduardo De Filippo and a spectacular fjord, among the most beautiful on the entire coast. The 14 buoys, positioned in a half-moon between the Isca and the cliff in front, will also act as a deterrent to avoid the high speed of the boats, very dangerous in that water channel between the islet and the coast.
“This intervention is part of a process of valorisation of the Crapolla Fjord that we have undertaken for some time, together with universities, institutions and local associations – underlines Lucio Cacace, President of the MPA Punta Campanella – Our attention towards the protection and valorisation of such beautiful and important sites, both for their naturalistic and historical aspects, will always remain high”.
The buoy field was designed and installed by the Punta Campanella Marine Protected Area thanks to the co-financing of the CON IL SUD Foundation as part of the “Sirenes and Campanella – The calls of the Gulf” project, coordinated by the Objective Napoli association. This morning, in the Enzo Maiorca room of the Amp Visitor Centre, the results of the initiative were presented which promoted the valorisation and protection of biodiversity, the development of eco-compatible tourism and the sustainable use of the cultural and cultural heritage local traditions. In addition to the Amp Punta Campanella, a fundamental partner for the construction of Campo Boe, the social cooperatives Proodos, ParteNeapolis, La Sorgente and the Pro Loco of Sant’Agnello participated in the project.
The initiative also involved hundreds of children, school groups, guests of multifunctional centres, citizens and tourists in routes aimed at discovering the area. There will also be space for the valorisation of local products, thanks to the involvement of small companies in the agri-food, fishing and tourism sectors.
