The 50&Più association organized the conference entitled “The Ligurian Network of Cities of Longevity” in the Salone di Representative of Palazzo Tursi in Genoa. The proposals compared focused on safety, health and the environment. The La Spezia section participated with five delegates who listened carefully to the ideas and suggestions to bring to La Spezia further expertise in terms of the rights of the elderly and useful changes to improve everyday life in the cities.

The conference opened with greetings from the regional president and national vice president of 50&Più Brigida Gallinaro, Daniela Boccadoro Ameri president of Silver Economy Forum and Genoa Smart City and Paolo Tanganelli, neurologist Guarantor of the Rights of the Elderly of the Municipality of Genoa. The work was divided into sessions, the first concerning the rights of the elderly, the second concerning the Longevity Cities Network and then ending with a discussion between representatives of different areas and cities.
The objective of the Longevity Cities Network is to support the elderly in active aging, which promotes healthy lifestyles and adequate services. The strong presence of elderly people is considered an issue to be addressed, both from an economic, social and health point of view. The aging of the population is a fact that has been recorded for years and this change requires the creation of livable and sharing spaces between generations.

For the La Spezia association, Bruno Dal Molin spoke in front of the audience of the Representation Hall, who also thanks to his experience as President of the Villaggio Famiglia Foundation, wanted to underline the importance of creating a real network that takes into account the experiences already present on the territory and which enhances the dialogue between different generations. During the conference, the Genoa manifesto on the Rights of the Elderly was distributed, a decalogue for a fairer society towards all ages.
