Now it’s official: the captain of the Italian national team, the champion from Reggio Emilia, Nicolò Melli, leaves EA7 after 3 seasons and 3 consecutive championships. Melli could go to play in Turkey, even if Reggio Emilia dreams of having him back home, but the undertaking is not at all easy.
In this regard, Graziano Sassi, partner of Pallacanestro Reggiana, already in an interview last March, had said about Nicolò Melli, a product of the Reggio youth academy: “We would be happy to bring him back to Reggio. It is a situation that I have already spoken about with President Bartoli. It certainly won’t be easy to achieve, but if we were able to offer him an attractive project, maybe he could think about it, given the non-basketball interests he has in Reggio…”.
