Catanzaro – The change in command of the “Calabria” Group between the Commander of the 9th Infantry Regiment, Colonel Mattia Scirocco, and the Commander of the 24th “Peloritani” land artillery regiment, Colonel Simone Scodellaro, in the presence of a military representation of the two departments. Deployed in every province of Calabria, the soldiers of the “Pinerolo” Mechanized Brigade carried out their surveillance tasks in sensitive places and patrolled within the vast area of the region, carrying out numerous control activities, independently and jointly with the Forces of the Police, to support public safety and to combat crime. From December 2023 to June 2024, Army men and women identified approximately 70,000 people and checked approximately 36,300 vehicles. The perfect integration and collaboration with all institutional bodies are testimony to an Armed Force with the ability to intervene at any time as a ready and flexible resource.
