APPROVAL OF THE ACCOUNTING STATEMENT, CASERTA DECIDES AND EMPHASIZES HIS ‘NO’ – AppiaPolis – News in Real Time

CASERTA – Caserta Decide offers its report of the City Council, in which the Accounting Statement was approved, making it known that Raffaele Giovine voted no to the same: “The City Council concerning the approval of the Accounting Statement was held today. The Young Councilor of Caserta Decide expressed his opposition to the budget approach and the meaning that its approval would represent.

Despite what Councilor Martino claimed, the budget is a document which within the technical data presents profound political nuances and today it is necessary to take a position on these. The budget is the act that tells how much and how the city has been governed which, unfortunately, is in a state of abandonment and discouragement perhaps never seen before. In the speech of our councilor Raffaele Giovine, it is the evaluations on the choices made on the allocation of funds that were taken into consideration. We reiterated our no to this budget. Mayor Marino talks about a city that the city itself does not see: projects, works, care, yet everyone knows the difficulty of living in our city, especially the young and the least fortunate. The disconnect between the Administration and the citizens is an incontrovertible fact, as can be seen from the failed choices on social policies, mobility, the maintenance of roads and greenery, the shared management of public spaces which is really struggling to take off.
“The citizens present in this room and those who follow in streaming want to understand what is happening. The city expects a radical change of pace after what happened last week, waiting for the judiciary to do its job: either we all go home and vote no to the financial statement, or a complete change of pace with a radical change of the council and the technicians, which, however, we have no intention of entering. If this does not happen, two wounds would be inflicted, one on the center left and one on democracy as a whole. In Caserta everything must change, immediately.”

It is at least curious to be considered the “crutch” of this majority despite the fact that we have always declared our positioning, the reasons why we ran against this centre-left, and we have always voted against the economic and trust actions of this administration (by not abstaining, by not leaving the room or not participating), while the same thing cannot be said of all the centre-right councilors who today, suddenly, attack us instead of taking it out on those who govern our city.

The budget was approved despite our vote against it. We invite all citizens to participate in the public assembly which will take place on June 21st at 6 pm in Piazza Ruggiero to build the future of our city together. We need radical change.”
