The city council asks for the creation of a trauma team at the Ravenna hospital

In yesterday’s session, Tuesday 18 June the City Council unanimously approved Alvaro Ancisi’s policy document (List for Ravenna-Polo Civico Popolo) on the feasibility of establishing a trauma team at the emergency roomcivil hospital of Ravenna, signed by Alberto Ancarani (Forza Italia Berlusconi for Ancarani-Primavera Ravenna) and Giacomo Ercolani (Lega Salvini prime minister). During the session it was also signed by all the council groups present in the room.

With the address document it is considered useful to forward it to the general director of the ASL Romagnathrough the mayor of Ravenna, also in his capacity as president of the territorial socio-health conference of the AISL itself, the request for verify the opportunity to formalize, through specific “organizational instructions”the procedures by which the trauma team, active at the civil hospital of Ravennatakes charge, making use of internal human and technological resources, of the primary management of patients affected by a minor trauma found in its emergency room.

Councilor Ancisi, accepting the additions suggested during the commission, proposed a shared text in which it is stated that for minor traumas, as required by Regional Council Resolution no. 1267 of 2002, each spoke hospital belonging to the trauma network must formalize operational instructions (already existing in practice), making use of a multidisciplinary team capable of dealing with clinical problems of not high complexity which must lead to the integration of all the various healthcare functions envisaged: Emergency-Urgency, Anesthesia, General Surgery, Radiology and, clearly, Orthopedics (as well as the on-call managers of Clinical Pathology and the Transfusion Service). For highly complex traumas, the need for concentration at the relevant Trauma center is highlightedsuch as Neurosurgery and Maxillofacial Surgery.
