Videocittà 2024: the vision festival opens with “Nebula” – EZ Rome

Videocittà, the famous digital culture festival, returns to Rome from 5 to 7 July for its seventh edition, promising to transform the Gazometro Ostiense into a lively hub of art, music and technology. This year, the inauguration will feature the site-specific installation “Nebula”, created by the renowned studio Quiet Ensemble in collaboration with the legendary composer Giorgio Moroder.

“Nebula”: an immersion in the digital cosmos

The work “Nebula” promises to be an unprecedented audiovisual experience. Using the Gazometer cylinder as a canvas, Quiet Ensemble, known for its ability to blend art, science and technology, and Giorgio Moroder, pioneer of electronic music, have created an installation that transforms space into an immersive constellation. Visitors will be surrounded by lights and sounds that simulate a journey through distant galaxies, making the experience a unique celebration of the digital and the visual.

A platform for digital culture

In addition to “Nebula”, Videocittà 2024 offers a rich program that includes immersive experiences in virtual reality, cutting-edge live sets and DJ sets, and a series of talks focused on topics such as artificial intelligence and new media. Among the scheduled events, the national premiere of “ODE corporis”, a VR project of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and the live shows of international artists such as Overmono and Tommy Cash stand out.

Meetings and debates: a vision of the future

The festival will also host a series of panels and debates with the participation of influential digital creators and representatives of new media generations. These meetings are an integral part of Pro-Agorà’s professional program, which this year will focus on the intersections between technology, art and society.

Useful information

Videocittà will take place at the Eni Complex of Gazometro Ostiense, with events scheduled from 5 to 7 July 2024. Tickets for the festival are already available, with high demand from both national and international audiences. This edition will also see an increase in immersive experiences, with over 60 VR headsets available to the public.
