With the arrival of the long-awaited summer season, the Lido di Classe Festival returns with its third edition: from 28 June to 31 August the now traditional evening event will liven up the Ravenna seaside resort so loved by the people of Forlì.
This year’s summer show and entertainment festival is characterized by the word “resilience”. In a summer characterized by many uncertainties, the festival wants to represent the ability to resist and survive, despite the challenges that Lido di Classe is facing.
The complexities linked to the issue of beach concessions, still unresolved in our country, together with the restoration works on Viale Caboto which have been awaited for many years, which however lasted until the beginning of the summer, could represent valid reasons for suspending the Festival even just for a year. However, hoteliers, lifeguards and the city committee have decided to give a signal of continuity and hope, keeping the Festival alive, albeit in a slightly reduced form, to cheer up the evenings of tourists and guests of the Lido di Classe with shows specifically designed for different target audience: adults, children, families, etc.
The press conference to present the 2024 season, which was held on Wednesday 19 June in Lido di Classe, was attended by: Cristina Garoia, President of the LdC Citizens Committee; Giovanna Paganelli, President of the LdC Hoteliers Association, Edera Fusconi, President of the Castiglione di Ravenna District; Andrea Sansovini, Artistic Director of the LdC Festival; Marco Viroli, journalist and presenter of the evenings.
The 2024 program is full of events that will turn the spotlight on the Largo Caboto stage, where artists, musicians, comedians and events for children will take turns for two months. This year the Festival will host the puppet shows of the Bergamasco Figure Theatre, which in this edition has been integrated into the event.
For families, the entertainment offer has been strengthened with four theater shows for children: “The Stork Brought Me”, “The Flight of the Swallows”, “The Thieving Magpie” and “The Magician Gorini”.
Furthermore, the 2024 program offers two evenings of Romagna comedy with Enrico Zambianchi, together with the extravagant trio Lucchi and Lanzoni, and for the first time, Giampiero Pizzol with Fra Godenzo da Montecucco.
As per tradition, Saturday evenings will be dedicated to music with some of the best local bands starring on the Largo Caboto stage: Magic Queen, Drama, Power Band Mama Soul.
There will also be the traditional fireworks on 10 August, in collaboration with the citizen committee of Lido di Savio, accompanied by the Romagna music of Claudio di Romagna.
Last but not least the Busker Festival, which this year returns and is enriched with national and international artists. On June 29th and August 31st, the opening and closing of the event will be marked by two unmissable events dedicated to street artists. For two evenings Largo Caboto will be transformed into the “avenue of dreams” with performances of fire, juggling, acrobatics, music, street theatre, illusionism and magic.
All shows will start at 9.30 pm and (except the puppet shows) will have free admission.
The Lido di Classe Festival was born from the desire to renew the entertainment offer for both residents and tourists, giving them the opportunity to enjoy the small and charming seaside resort in a fun and carefree way, without necessarily having to go elsewhere.
