The “Leonardo da Vinci” fountain illuminated in white and red to celebrate the 160 years of the Italian Red Cross: from yesterday evening and throughout today, Saturday 15 June, Aeroporti di Roma celebrates, at Terminal 3 Departures of the airport of Rome Fiumicino, the anniversary of the foundation of the Association, which took place in 1864.

The initiative is part of the renewed collaboration that ADR, a Mundys Group company, and the Italian Red Cross itself are launching on trajectories of common interest such as inclusion, support for women victims of violence, diffusion of the values ​​of sport, universal education to health and healthy lifestyles, combating poverty.

The lighting of the fountain at Rome Fiumicino airport is part of the events organized by the Italian Red Cross in 2024 to testify to the constant presence of the CRI volunteers alongside the most vulnerable, in every context and without any distinction, in 160 years of history of the Association.

“Lighting up the fountain in Fiumicino Terminal 3 in white and red means taking to the field to pay homage to the Italian Red Cross, its history, the daily commitment and the future challenges that characterize the health and social care initiatives involving thousands of volunteers all over the world” declared the President of Aeroporti di Roma, Attorney Vincenzo Nunziata.

“The hope is that this illumination, which will be accompanied by that of numerous other institutional and historical structures, will reach the hearts of those who feel alone, need help or support and give them courage; which strengthens the bond of trust that the population, companies and donors have always had towards the Volunteers of the Italian Red Cross who for 160 years have represented, with their Humanity, one of the most beautiful stories that our country can tell ”, declared Rosario Valastro, President of the Italian Red Cross.
