Two days of meetings, debates, reflections, two opportunities to explore, together with some of the greatest national experts, the theme of landscape from a historical and legal point of view, without rhetoric, because nature is not static, but dynamic. The Municipality of Quartu promotes and hosts the conferenceLandscape: perception and reality of places. Public history of communities‘.

The most traditional meaning of the term ‘landscape’ is provided by painting and is characterized by the purely visual representation of reality. But there are many and different elements that have shaped it throughout history, also in relation to our cultural background, to our identity. This is what makes foreign countries exotic and generates nostalgia in those who are far away. And it is perhaps also the reason why we perceive certain changes as real disfigurements, because they harm the most intimate awareness of ourselves.

The Quartese conference will therefore be an opportunity for study, a focus on the state of the art, to dig into the past and analyze the present, to enhance the different specificities and put dialogue, relationships and knowledge at the center of the project. And to trigger virtuous processes, open up to concrete and achievable visions regarding the spaces we inhabit and will inhabit.

Specifically, the initiative aims to delve into aspects that have so far only been addressed marginally, with two key elements: history, seen as a tool, so that it can be understood and used as a design element; the legal aspect, because, in consideration of its fundamental role, the landscape must be governed, also in terms of civic uses.

The initiative is scheduled for Friday 21st, in the afternoon, starting from 5.30pm, and Saturday 22nd June, in the morning from 10am, in the external spaces of the central municipal library in via Dante 66. Promoted by the Municipality of Quartu and organized by the Association National Veterans and Veterans Garibaldini, includes the participation, also for institutional greetings, of the municipal councilor for urban planning, private construction and strategic planning Aldo Vanini, of the regional councilor for local authorities, finance and urban planning Francesco Spanedda and of the President of the Municipal Urban Planning Commission Stefano Busonera. Different, but all of high profile, the professionals and teachers from the academic world of various Italian universities called to intervene.

The first session, Friday 21st, has the subtitle “Landscape: tools, methods, forms”. With the coordination of Roberto Ibba, the Prosecutor General of Cagliari Luigi Patronaggio, the Director of the State Archives of Cagliari Enrico Trogu, Gabriella Bonini, PhD of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Carlo Tosco and Alessandro Panicco of the Polytechnic of Turin will speak. , Annunziata Berrino of the University of Naples Federico II and Cristina Ornano of the Court of Cagliari.
