“You didn’t deserve to die like this”

Misano mourns the passing of Marco Bianchi. He turned 40 about a month ago, on May 16th. He lost his life around 6.50pm the day before yesterday, in a dramatic accident in Miramare, in the roundabout between Viale Principe di Piemonte and Via Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto. Bianchi, according to an initial reconstruction carried out by the local police officers of Rimini, died after being hit by a car with which – according to the very first findings on the accident – the man had touched himself while traveling on his scooter Kymco 125 model. The dynamics of the crash are now under the magnifying glass of the Rimini Prosecutor’s Office, which will have to carry out in-depth checks to establish the exact chain of facts. At the wheel of the car, a Volkswagen Polo driven by a 78 year old man: he and Bianchi were driving along Viale Principe di Piemonte, both coming from Riccione and heading towards Rimini. The two vehicles would therefore have shared the same direction when, for reasons still being ascertained, the moped and the car touched each other. A collision following which, according to initial hypotheses, would have caused the fall of Bianchi who, at that point, no longer had a chance once the car was running over him in a fatal accident.

Bianchi’s family lives in Misano Adriatico, in via Mazzini. The 40-year-old worked in construction. Friends and acquaintances describe him as “a great company guy, with whom it was pleasant and fun to hang out and spend time”. “A good person from a good family: he didn’t deserve to die like that,” adds a friend. Many posts of pain and condolences shared yesterday on Facebook pages by many people from Misa. “When will all these deaths on the roads end?”, someone asks. Following the accident, the 118 emergency services rushed to the scene immediately but were unable to do anything other than confirm the death of the 40-year-old. The injuries sustained were too serious and would have caused his death instantly. The Rimini Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened a file to shed full light on the tragedy and above all to establish any responsibilities on the part of the driver of the Polo with which the 40-year-old collided.
