Zavaroni, family first

He had turned 61 a few weeks ago, retired just over a year ago and had plenty of time to enjoy his grandson Tommaso, the beautiful house in San Nazzaro di Sissa where he welcomed friends and family, and the motorbike he had given himself to ride. outings and new trips with his wife Emanuela.

This was the pleasant setting in which Fabrizio Zavaroni’s life flowed peacefully before the tragic accident yesterday morning which, in a fraction of a second, swept away all plans for the future.

«We were looking for an evening that could suit everyone to have dinner together at his house, but there wasn’t the time – says Luciano Bussoni, president of Cral ex Amnu, emotionally -. Fabrizio was a highly esteemed colleague: he was kind and had the right word for everyone.”

For eight years, for Bussoni, he had also been a valuable vice president, a role he would hold until next year.

«It was I who “pulled” him into the Cral: he was a very helpful person and always ready to get busy, so, little by little, I involved him in the activities we do until I brought him into our board. We spoke on the phone on Monday: in the evening he was going to the charity dinner in Romani’s garden and he was cheerful and positive as always. Imagining that that was the last phone call is impossible for me.”

And precisely the availability that everyone today remembers as his first quality had also seen him try his hand for years in the role of accompanying manager of the youth teams of Old Parma Baseball.

It was his daughter Alessia who had brought him onto the “diamond”, who had become passionate about this sport when she was still a child, and to follow her closely Zavaroni had not hesitated to put himself “at the service” of the other mini athletes, with a small role in youth sector.

«His family was always in first place and when he talked about his grandson, his eyes shone – all those who wanted to remember him in the hours following the accident wanted to underline -. A very united family, made up of good and respectable people, who certainly did not deserve this pain.”

Pain that her closest friends are trying to alleviate, holding Emanuela and her children Alessia and Mattia in their embrace until the day they say their last goodbyes.
