Convinced that his girlfriend is cheating on him, he stabs his rival in love and the same girl who jumped in to break up the argument. Last night in Via della Palazzina, the Carabinieri of the Viterbo company arrested a 29-year-old from the capital, already known to the police, held responsible for attempted murder. In fact, on the same night in Soriano nel Cimino, along Via San Giorgio – a road that leads away from the town center towards wooded areas – a patrol intervened to rescue four people around a parked car; the soldiers found themselves in front of a 33-year-old with three serious stab wounds to the abdomen and a 25-year-old with cuts on her right hand.

«From the investigations carried out immediately – explain the military – it emerged that another car had pulled alongside them shortly before, a young man armed with a knife got out and attacked the first victim while he was still in the front passenger seat, ending up by also hitting the girl, who had tried in vain to intervene in defense of her friend”. While the victims were taken by ambulance to the emergency room of the Belcolle hospital, the search for the 29-year-old had already begun, who was stopped shortly afterwards while he was taking refreshments in a restaurant in via della Palazzina. The carabinieri also found the knife used and abandoned on the Cimini, along the provincial Colonnetta, placing it under seizure. Based on what has been reconstructed, it would appear that the 29-year-old acted for passionate reasons. He would have been convinced that his girlfriend was having a parallel relationship and after following her he would have stabbed her alleged lover. In her quarrel the woman would have got in the way and she would have been hit on her hand.
The 29-year-old will appear before the judge in the next few hours to have his arrest validated.
