PISTOIA – Last weekend there were significant road traffic disruptions in Pistoia on ordinary roads, which also had repercussions on the A11 motorway, due to construction work on the Pistoia motorway junction. The episode occurred on the morning of Friday 14 June 2024, between 8 and 9.30.
Some traffic police patrols intervened on site and, after taking note of how the artery of the local Ss 716 – Pistoia Raccordo, affected by scheduled works, was inaccessible due to technical impediments, they set up an important network of intervention so as to be able to offer the users who remain bottled up the assistance necessary to limit their discomfort.
Once correct traffic was restored, the officers asked the construction site managers for explanations, who justified themselves by reporting a mechanical failure in the milling machine, which would have led to an unexpected extension of the closure period. This, however, did not avoid them being fined over 860 euros. Further checks are underway.
