A fire it flared up inside a industrial warehouse in Guidonia Montecelio, in the province of Rome. The flames originated inside a structure, located in via Lake of Tartars, in the industrial area. The fire started this morning and continued to burn into the afternoon. It is not clear at the moment what caused it, an old boat factory is burning. The alarm was raised by the residents, who heard a strong burning smellthe cloud of black smoke it was visible from kilometers away and from Rome. From what we understand, fortunately there were no injuries.
Also reporting on the fire was the mayor of Guidonia Montecelio Mauro Lombardo: “A fire broke out in via Lago dei Tartari, at the Guidonia crossroads, in the industrial area – we read on the mayor’s institutional Facebook page – The firefighters are present on site. The flames are present in a warehouse in disuse. It is advisable to close the windows as the smoke affects the surrounding area”.
Firefighters worked to put out the fire
The call arrived to the Single Emergency Number 112 with the urgent request for intervention, which was then passed to the operations room of the provincial fire brigade command. The firefighters of the Villa Adriana detachment in Tivoli and the civil protection operators arrived on site. The firefighters who arrived at the site of the fire began extinguishing operations. The police were also present to support the operations and monitored the traffic. Investigations into the nature of the fire are underway to shed light on what happened.
