LECCE – «I invite citizens not to be influenced by those who carry out psychological terrorism, differentiated autonomy is a great opportunity for the territories and we should not be afraid of it when it comes to schools, on the contrary. I strongly wanted Agenda Sud, the first strategic initiative of a government of the Republic to bring Italy together from an educational point of view and this was the first government that invested something like 325 million euros in the South.» This was said by the Minister of Education Giuseppe Valditara in Lecce where he is taking part in a meeting in support of Adriana Poli Bortone, candidate for mayor of the centre-right.

«From September – announced Valditara – we will invest further resources in Agenda Sud because we believe that training opportunities for our young people must be equal, regardless of where they live. The investments we have made in education, such as the 4+2 reform (of technical and professional institutes), have seen an exceptional response, particularly from the Southern regions. Puglia and Calabria are regions that have given a strong response which testifies to the desire for growth, redemption, the will for the future of these regions”.

Also present today in Lecce was the Minister of Public Administration Paolo Zangrillo: «The Government is showing great attention towards the entire Southern area and above all to territorial areas». The minister then added: «My presence today is also a sign of what I think of the public administration, which is an institution essential to the functioning of the state machine and we must imagine it as an institution that finds its most real characteristic precisely in the territory . Today, for me, being here to support the candidacy of a mayor also means reiterating this desire to have a very close relationship between the central administration and the local authorities.”
