It is one of my favorite tournaments, this tournament cannot be missed.” These are the words of Juan Lebron to Adnkronos after having overcome, not without difficulty, together with Paquito Navarro, in the third set, the first challenge at the Major Italy Premier Padel in Roma against the Italian-Spanish couple Perino-Garcia Rodrigo.
“Today was a very complicated match, because obviously we had a decline and lost the second set, there our rivals started to play better while we lowered our level.” Lebron has recently changed partners, after many years with Ale Galan, he now plays together with Paquito Navarro but they are still experiencing some difficulties. “We should have adapted. We have had many tournaments, we haven’t won them, it has been difficult. We are not playing as we would like and the results we are aiming for are not arriving.”
Padel is increasingly followed by TVs that broadcast the competitions and this can help the development of this sport. “Thanks to all the players, to the FIP, to Premier Padel, who are doing a great job and we are seeing that Padel is going very strong in many countries and will do so more and more”, added Lebron, Red Bull athlete (who will also broadcast the final stages of the Rome padel tournament on Red Bull TV), who “hopes that padel will soon reach the Olympics too”, given the imminence of those in Paris. “I don’t know when it will happen but I hope soon,” said the Spanish champion. “Will Spain and Italy play football at Euro 2024 tomorrow?
