UnaHotels Reggio Emilia rewards the great season of coaching Dimitris Priftis with the contract renewal. The Reggio Emilia team, fresh from a very positive year, thus decides to continue the relationship with the Greek coach until the 2025-2026 season.
UnaHotels Reggio Emilia renews coach Dimitris Priftis
UNAHotels Reggio Emilia has decided to lock down coach Dimitris Priftis with a renewal until 30 June 2026. Having arrived at the helm of the red and whites last summer, the Hellenic coach led the team to fifth place in the regular season, gaining qualification for the playoffs (defeated only in game 5 by Venezia) and for the finals of Italian Cup, where they eliminated Virtus Bologna in the quarterfinals, before surrendering to Naples.
These are the words of President Vittoria Baroli: “From the first moment we met coach Priftis we clearly expressed to him our desire, as a society, to begin a path that would lead to the construction of a cycle. We are therefore extremely pleased to continue together with a coach who, in addition to the great technical and group management qualities shown, I would also like to underline how he has “married” the city and the community of Reggio Emilia, learning our language and fitting in perfectly with the inside the dynamics of this square. In all respects, I now consider Dimitris to be an “adopted Reggio Emilia” and we are grateful to share our ambitions with him”.
This, instead, is the comment of coach Dimitris Priftis: “My first year here corresponded with a magnificent season for me, both as a coach and personally. I really appreciated the cooperation that was created with all the people in the company and also living in Reggio Emilia. I felt love for the team and the city and I am truly grateful that this journey will continue. I want to thank the ownership and management for the support and trust they have shown towards me and obviously for giving me the opportunity to continue to be part of this Club. We must have faith in our work and, above all, we must do it together, as a large group, to build another season of satisfaction”.
