The fire was finally put out.
Remnants of acrimony remain in the air caused by the toxic black cloud of special waste that went up in flames this afternoon, Wednesday 18 June, in the violent fire that broke out at number 7 of via Lago dei Tartari, in the industrial area of Bivio di Guidonia (CLICK AND READ TIBURNO’S ARTICLE).
The firefighters found waste of all kinds, abandoned in an open area accessible to all located between the warehouse that houses the civil protection association “Volontari Valle Aniene Associati” and that of a company specialized in the extractive sector: municipal solid waste, plastic, tyres, mattresses and blankets used by a homeless person who lived there until recently, even the fiberglass mold for making hulls, the remains of a boat factory closed for years following a another terrifying fire.
According to the first information collected by the online newspaper of the city of the North-East Tiburno.Tv, the first flames ignited around 11.30 this morning, when the Civil Protection volunteers requested the intervention of the firefighters who within a few minutes had intervened and appear to have put out the initial fire.
In reality, the embers were still burning if it is true that around 4pm the flames broke out, enveloping the surrounding waste and the black cloud was spotted from Rome and the province.
This time the firefighters of the Villa Adriana detachment managed to definitively put out the fire, thanks to the support of the volunteers from the civil protection associations “Volontari Valle Aniene Associati” and “Nucleo Volontari Guidonia, who intervened respectively with a vehicle, a pick up and the municipal tanker.
Also on site was the mayor of Guidonia Montecelio Mauro Lombardo.
