After months of reflections, discontent and tugging at the jacket, this afternoon the mayor of Teramo Gianguido D’Alberto eliminated the council, proceeding at the same time with the appointment of the new executive.

“At the end of careful and calm reflection – underlines the mayor – also in light of the context and the political-administrative structure, I decided to proceed with a change in the composition of the Council, also on the basis of the need to replace the former councilor for public works Giovanni Cavallari. I can only thank the outgoing councillors, who contributed with their work to ensuring the achievement of important objectives”.

The reconstitution and partial modification of the council is also accompanied by a review of the delegations, more “functional and adequate to the new challenges imposed by the implementation of the PNRR and a whole series of projects and services”.

The names and delegations of the new council, where Valdo Di Bonaventura and Ilaria De Sanctis, the two councilors probably most active and among the most voted a year ago, no longer appear. Valdo Di Bonaventura “pays” for his candidacy as an independent with Action in the last regional elections, Ilaria De Sanctis ends up in the massacre of the reshuffle and the balance to be maintained. The new entries come from Di Marcantonio (PD), to which go the delegations of Giovanni Cavallari, now regional councilor, Miriam Tulli (Bella Teramo, Cavallari’s group) and Graziella Cordone (In comune per Te), group of the president of the Province, Camillo D ‘Angel.

These are the delegations.

Marco Di Marcantonio: public works, public construction

Graziano Ciapanna: urban regeneration, large-area territorial governance and security

Graziella Cordone: environmental policies, circular economy, waste cycle management, mobility and transport

Domenico Sbraccia: hamlets and care, maintenance, enhancement of municipal heritage

Miriam Tulli: staff, educational community and services relating to the right to education

Alessandra Ferri: sport, youth policies and development of Teramo, a university and research city

Antonio Filipponi: revitalization and economic and cultural regeneration of Teramo, the capital city

Pina Ciammariconi: digital agenda and civic and general services, transparency, participation and collaboration between communities

Stefania Di Padova: deputy mayor with responsibility for the solidarity budget, welfare and housing policies.

The Together We Can group expresses “Extreme satisfaction with the break from the administrative impasse of recent weeks. It is immediately imperative to focus on the rapid implementation of the 2023 electoral program. In sacrificing the legitimate personal political aspirations of the present and past members of the Group, the largest electoral contributor of the present majority, we reiterate our convinced support for administrative action. We will carefully monitor the work of the council and the timely adherence to the city government project.”

This was stated in a note by the council group closest to Mayor Gianguido D’Alberto.

“The mayor will be able to valorise in the way he deems most appropriate and functional to the good administration of Teramo, the work skills and active commitment, which is not lacking in the current phase, which the members of the Group have always ensured. We take this opportunity to thank the outgoing councilor Ilaria De Sanctis for the contribution of commitment, ideas and humanity offered to the community and to each of us”.
