THEATER BIENNALE
The 52nd International Theater Festival offers Venice, until 30 June, a passe-partout to open the doors of the imagination and set sail on a multidisciplinary journey through the most important shows of the contemporary theater scene and the productions created within of Biennale College Theatre. “A line-up of extraordinary poetic-visionary artists is mobilizing to awaken consciences and outline the contours of a more desirable future” Stefano Ricci and Gianni Forte, Artistic Directors of the Theater Sector.

VERONESE SUMMER
The Festival, now in its 76th edition, offers an indissoluble mix of theatre, dance and music at the Roman Theater of Verona, from 21 June to 20 September. Three months full of events with 15 national premieres, 7 co-productions and a schedule of 52 live shows. New: the return of the great Shakespearean and classical productions. June is the month of Jazz music and Rumors, August is the month dedicated to dance. Artistic director Carlo Mangolini.

STRAW SCENES
from 22 June to 7 July, the 15th edition of the Casoni and Water Festival animates the countryside, fishing valleys, drainage pumps, historic villas and the city centers of Saccisica and Miranese. Intimate stories to give body and voice to the great themes of the present with particular attention to memory and forgetfulness, the duty to remember and the right to be forgotten. A calendar of 21 shows curated by the artistic director Fernando Marchiori.

CENTORIZZONTI
from 23 June to 7 September, the 13th traditional summer festival, entitled “Fantasmagorie”, offers 18 events in 10 municipalities of the Asolo area, Monte Grappa and Castellana, with the aim of making known the lands and places of the territory, well-known and less well-known, thanks to cultural and laboratory experiences of theatre, singing, music and dance, through the action of the artists and the involvement of the public who become protagonists of the scene. Artistic direction by Cristina Palumbo.

FIRST WORK FESTIVAL
from 26 to 30 June, in Rovigo, the Festival, now in its 20th edition, aims to bring a new theatrical generation to critical attention, it is in fact dedicated to contemporary theatre, to theater that explores and researches new languages ​​and new youth creativity. In opposition to today’s habits, which tend to standardize differences, supporting what is “fashionable” and thus standardizing Festival programmes, it aims to host and enhance the multiplicity of trends and research underway in the Italian theater scene.

CASTLE FESTIVAL
From 1 July to 15 September, the 10th edition of the Festival will kick off, animating the Paduan summer, ranging from music to theatre, from literature to philosophy, from dance to musicals. 21 scheduled shows by nationally and internationally renowned artists will be held in two evocative locations in the heart of Padua: Piazza Eremitani and the Teatro Giardino of Palazzo Zuckermann.

BETWEEN VILLAS AND GARDENS
from 2 July to 21 August: the iconic summer festival of live shows in Polesine has been offering excellent programming in the squares of small towns, in churchyards and in Venetian villas for 25 years. 17 shows in this edition. Artistic Director Claudio Ronda comments: “The programming, attentive to changes and the relationship between tradition, modernity and innovation, has always tried to create a dialogue between different generations and to provoke in the viewer a reflection on their own time”.

EVENTS: ART NIGHT VENICE

The blue of the night of art once again colors Venice in the 13th edition of ART NIGHT scheduled for Saturday 22 June from 6 pm, in the name of Marco Polo, 700 years after his death.

Art Night is the prototype of an active city that works in synergy with institutions: more than 145 subjects involved in organizing a rich calendar with around a hundred events, concerts, open cultural venues and visitable museums.
“The program this year is truly a journey, a journey into art”, declares Silvia Burini of the scientific direction of Art Night Venice.

The initiative, coordinated by the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in collaboration with the Municipality of Venice and with the patronage of the Veneto Region, offers art and culture enthusiasts a unique opportunity to visit and have fun.
