CIVITAVECCHIA – «This deliberative act establishes the allodial nature of the lands of Tenuta delle Mortelle. This is the beginning of a process started thanks to the desire of the centre-right Rocca council to put an end to an affair that has taken on grotesque characteristics.”
The regional councilor for Budget, Agriculture and Food Sovereignty of Lazio does not mince words Giancarlo Righini yesterday in Civitavecchia, in Corso Centocelle, to illustrate and explain to the citizens the resolution approved in recent days at Pisana which certifies the non-existence of the civic use restriction on the areas falling within the Tenuta delle Mortelle in Civitavecchia. An important act born from the collaboration of many actors and, as Righini himself explained, thanks to the work of the citizen committee which produced documents and materials. The need for a strong stance like this is demonstrated by the strong presence yesterday in Corso Centocelle where, in front of the Traiano theatre, citizens – including several real estate agents demonstrating the economic impact of the burden – and various actors gathered to listen to Righini’s words.
Together with him the centre-right mayoral candidate Massimiliano Grasso and the regional councilor Emanuela Mari.
«Today – explained Grasso – we wanted to invite the whole of Civitavecchia to talk about what is a deeply felt problem for us Civitavecchia residents. After years of chatter from the Zingaretti Pd and Cinque Stelle council, in fact, the Rocca council has intervened with a concrete and very important act which opens up a new horizon.” A resolution, as the mayoral candidate recalled, on which many worked, starting from Mari, up to the city councilors Pasquale Marino and Simona Galizia with a thought for Senator Andrea Augello, who recently passed away, the first to “give us a hand”.
Mari underlined that «in a year and a half the Rocca council has done what the centre-left and the Five Stars have failed to do in ten years» underlining Righini’s sensitivity towards the city. «Today – he said – there is a resolution that has freed 5 thousand families from an incredible situation. The regional offices that worked on this act are made up of the exact same people who were in the previous administration, so what was missing was the political will to remove civic uses from Civitavecchia. This is a political act that says that the Rocca administration is close to Civitavecchia.”
Grasso reiterated that this is an important starting point, a strong signal of closeness to Civitavecchia on the part of the Region after the “damage done at every level by the Democratic Party and Five Star”
For Righini, Civitavecchia is a «very important and strategic city for the economy of our Region. A political will has been affirmed, nothing has changed: the offices are still the same. We have put the definition of an unfortunate story at the top of the to-do list, a medieval institution that deserves to be overcome where possible. The allodial nature of Tenuta delle Mortelle was reiterated in this resolution and the Committee contributed in an important way. This deliberative act affirmed the sacrosanct principle that the centre-right government wants to resolve the problems that have been dragging on for years because when you put in effort and determination the result comes and this is the nature of this centre-right. This is the start of an important journey.”
Now it’s up to the Municipality and «I’m sure – said Righini, addressing Grasso – that you will have the privilege of being the one (as mayor, ed.) who will erase this burden for 5 thousand families. This is a fundamental city, we are working for the implementation of the ZLS, Civitavecchia for us will be a point of reference for concrete actions. Infrastructure will be created that will allow Civitavecchia to become a leading city in the region’s economy. Long live Civitavecchia – he concluded -, long live Massimiliano Grasso mayor of Civitavecchia». The appointment is for Friday, at 7pm, in Piazza Fratti where Grasso’s electoral campaign will close.
