PADUA, FURIOUS ULTRAS: “WE WILL DESERT THE EUGANEO”
The Padova ultras take a clear and sensational position, towards the Biancoscudata club and beyond: next season, the sixth in a row in Serie C, no season tickets at the Euganeo stadium and deserted stands for home matches. Much more than a supporter’s strike: a clear and total closure towards the club, patron Oughourlian, the municipal administration and the Paduan entrepreneurial environment tout court.
The decision was made on Tuesday evening, during a meeting called by the most solid fringe of the Biancoscudato supporters. “We no longer have the Tribuna Fattori”, wrote the Paduan ultras in a statement summarizing the decision. “We are relegated, punished, helpless to observe what has become the classic unfinished work Italica. The Euganeo stadium is nothing other than the mirror of a 360 degree disastrous situation here in Padua”. The organized supporters therefore also attack the club: “Dehumanised, deaf, blind, without any planning, totally indifferent to the mood of the square. A cowardly manager (clear reference to the diesse Mirabelli, ed.) hidden in every key moment and creator of a profoundly negative climate with the market. And at the top a majority shareholder who never manages to take a low-cost flight to come to Padua to see his investment”. Finally, the laconic consideration on the whole environment: “A policy disinterested in the fate of Calcio Padova, which continues to throw taxpayers’ money into this inhuman “Stadium”. A city heritage reduced to something cumbersome, marginal, at times annoying “.
Then, the closure, and the sensational decision: the Padova ultras will not sign up and will desert the Euganeo stadium, calling on every fan to follow the same line. “All our efforts and sacrifices will be aimed at bringing as many away fans to a Serie C that is more like a Serie D.”
The technical management of the new coach, Matteo Andreoletti, therefore risks starting in a very tense climate: with a half-empty stadium and a position of ostracism and indifference in which the team will be called upon to build a championship that starts on absolutely steep foundations.
