“There fight against discrimination and equal opportunities go hand in hand in any area of the civil life of a State, and therefore also in the sporting field they have the meaning and value of civility, freedom and democracy. The adoption of this “Charter” by the municipality of Grosseto demonstrates the Polis’ willingness to work together: citizens, associations and sports clubs, for sport without discrimination. As a member of the Italian Parliament and also a local administrator, I am really happy to have contributed, together with the association Soroptimist to whom my thanks go, and to all the city components, in giving life to a document represented by this ethical charter for women’s sport. Very important document, which goes in the direction of an increasingly inclusive sport. Any type of physical and sporting activity, whether team or individual, has always represented one of the major educational tools of civility and social inclusion. Therefore, today more than ever, it is necessary to break down all those prejudices against anyone and especially against women”, concludes Fabrizio Rossi.
