A new home for the cat colony of Santa Maria La Scala

ACIREALE – Thanks to a nice “teamwork” was made in recent days a small but important one intervention for the decorum and protection of the cat colony of the hamlet of Santa Maria La Scala, in Acireale.

Decorum and protection of the feline colony

We removed all the boxes and houses in poor condition. The area in front of the mill beach has been cleaned and redeveloped. We then repositioned some houses and ENPA donated us new bowls to permanently replace the plastic ones. I am very satisfied with the intervention that was carried out, which was a team effort, because not only did we maintain the decorum of the seaside hamlet, but we also protected the cat colony, placing the houses in a sheltered equipped area“, has explained the Environment Councilor Francesca Messina.

“I would like to thank the Animal Rights office, with inspector Grazia Catania, Tekra, the Environment Office, the guys from the Universal Civil Service, councilor Alfio Messina with whom I have been dealing with the issue for a year and councilor Rosario Scalia who raised the problem in the city council, but above all the tutor Marcella Salinas and two volunteers Giovanni Farruggia and Roberto Patanè, who did a great job”, goes on.
