Catania, drug axis between Sicily and Calabria: 13 arrests. Behind a wall hidden 90 thousand euros in cash

There was an intense relationship between the Calabrian trafficker Bruno Cidoni and Gaetano Scilio, considered one of the most active drug traffickers in Catania. The investigations of the flying squad directed by Antonio Sfameni have stopped the latest criminal affairs on the Sicily – Calabria axis. Thirteen people were arrested as part of the investigation coordinated by the Etna anti-mafia district prosecutor’s office.

“The investigative action – explains a statement from the police headquarters – in addition to allowing the reconstruction of the internal structure of the association believed to be headed by Cidoni, has made it possible to document, in just under six months, as many as 20 transports and deliveries of large quantities of narcotics which would have been carried out by the criminal association to numerous criminals from Catania, some of whom were believed to be linked to various mafia clans in the capital”.

Cidoni had now moved to Catania, to better manage his business, in the San Giovanni Galermo district: in his home, the police from the Narcotics section found a wall safe: inside, there were 90 thousand euros in cash. The money was also behind the bidet. A place considered safe, but it did not escape the police.
