The Carabinieri of the Investigative Unit of Provincial Command of Naples have executed a precautionary measure order of the House arrest at the expense of seven peopleseriously suspected, in various capacities, of criminal association crimes and aggravated robbery from the use of weapons, committed with the so-called “reverse thread” technique.
This particular criminal method involved a preliminary observation phase, in which entrepreneurs, traders or commercial agents were identified; a subsequent phase, carried out by the “spinner”, of shadowing and preventive study of the habits of the potential victim to schedule the days on which the payment of cash was usually made;
And an executive phase of approach, which finally consisted inattack the victim with sudden actions and the use of firearms, before making the deposit.
Overall, the investigative activity conducted – from October 2022 to August 2023 ultimately made it possible to reveal and dismantle a dangerous criminal associationmade up of six people and dedicated to the commission of an indeterminate series of robberies with the “reverse thread” techniquefor a total profit of 131,620 euros.
Two other accomplices have been identified, seriously suspected of having participated in two further robberies, and the operational base of the criminal group with their respective members, also capable of planning a series of robberies to be carried out, with the ram or split technique , to the detriment of credit institutions in province of Naples And Parma as well as in Belgium.
Finally, it was possible to collect serious evidence of crime against two further subjects for the commission of a robbery with the “reverse wire” technique, which took place on 6 October 2022 in Arzano against the manager of a tobacco shop for a total profit of 20 thousand euros and three attempted robberies committed between February and March 2023 in the municipality of Pozzuoli.
To ensure the achievement of the illicit profit, the suspects illegally carried weapons with them, using them even in broad daylight to break the windows of the victims’ cars, stopped in traffic and, on one occasion, also to explode gunshots for intimidating purposes.
During today’s execution they were identified six of the seven subjects recipients of the custody order, while one of them is currently untraceable. Searches aimed at tracing him are still underway.
