‘We need regional legislation on fences. There is a risk of a disastrous harvest
“Wineries are in great difficulty and are suffering very serious damage to their vineyards. “Each Municipality has different rules on fences and this not only creates regulatory chaos for entrepreneurs who perhaps have land in different municipal territories – says Baragli – but also an unequal treatment between farmers from one Municipality and farmers from another. Municipal regulations have often remained unchanged from thirty years ago when the presence of ungulates was not so strong”.
“The laws on hunting are too stringent in Tuscany – concludes Baragli –. In Emilia-Romagna, for example, nocturnal selective hunting of ungulates, responsible for extensive damage to crops, is permitted, while in Tuscany night vision goggles for hunters remain prohibited.”
