This was announced by the Municipalities of Cinisello Balsamo and Sesto San Giovanni, which for over a decade have been involved together with Monza in the important intervention that will lead to the Rossa having a new terminus. «18 million euros until 2029, which are added to the 20 million foreseen by the Objective Law, already committed for the same work, bringing the total investment to 38 million to cover extra costs due to the increase in material prices – the words of the mayor of Cinisello Giacomo Ghilardi -. This will ensure the extension of the route from Sesto Fs. The completion of the M1 is not only a step forward for local mobility, but also an important prelude to the start of work on the extension of the M5.”

Adds the Councilor for Public Works of the Municipality of Sesto San Giovanni Antonio Lamiranda: «Now I am waiting for the convocation of the Lombardy Region, which I have insistently requested for some time, to coordinate all the interventions on the quadrant (M1 / M5 / parking spaces / access roads) and to be ready between 2027 and 2028. Now it is up to Milan to immediately call the tender and complete this strategic work for Northern Milan. Maybe we are at the end of the tunnel.”
