Gender equality and reduction of inequalities are the objectives in which the University of Verona stands out in the 2024 edition of the Times higher education sustainability ranking called “impact rankings”. This is a set of rankings that measure the success of universities in achieving the United Nations’ sustainable development goals.

The draws up a ranking for each of the objectives of the UN 2030 agenda using appropriate indicators calculated on the basis of data and information provided by the universities themselves who independently choose which and how many rankings to participate in. Furthermore, by putting together the various results obtained, The draws up an overall synthetic world ranking.

It is the third time that the university has participated, competing this year in 6 rankings plus the general ranking.

The two best results with the 101 – 200 range concern the UN objective number 5 “Gender equality” and the goal number 10 “Reduce inequalities”, which confirm last year’s placement given the increase in participating institutions to 1,361 (last year there were 1,081) and 1,108 (last year there were 901) respectively.

The objectives, however, fall within the 201-300 range number 4 “Quality education” And number 9 “Businesses, innovation and infrastructure” which instead confirms last year’s positioning on 1,681 institutions (last year there were 1,304).

Verona, finally, is positioned in the 301-400 range with the objective number 3 “Health and well-being” in which 1,498 institutions are participating this year (there were 1,218 in the last edition) and the objective number 17 “Partnership for the objectives”, ranks which sees Verona reach the 601-800 range compared to last year’s 801-100 range, compared to the 2,152 participating institutions (there were 1,591 last year).

In the overall ranking, the score obtained by the university is 72.8 which allows it to confirm the 401-600 range out of more than 2,150 institutions (there were 1,591 in 2023).
