Monza – Il rock sounds the alarm to the city. Not just rock to be honest, but many different genres of live music that will liven up the center of Monza and a couple of neighborhoods until the end of July with the second edition of Monza Live Sound Festival. There review musical which features emerging bands of all genres, this year will have more evenings, more squares and more hours of music: around 90 groups have been selected by the artistic direction of Mondovisione out of 300 applications.

The event will be presented in Piazza Roma on Sunday at 9pm, animated by the comedy of Loris Fabiani – aka Lunanzio -, directly from the Lol 4 programme, while from Friday 28 June the musical event will begin with an evening at the Spazio Rosmini in San Rocco. Then in July, with three events on Fridays 5th, 12th and 19th, the Festival will transform the center of Monza into an open-air rehearsal room in which to share music and make itself known to the public, until the final evening of 26th July at the civic center LibertHub in viale Libertà. “Among the almost 300 bands from all over Italy who applied to participate in the Festival (with over 916 musicians), 90 were selected on the basis of the quality of the performance offered, evaluated by the demos sent and giving space to a large number of genres different music – explains Dario Galetti, coordinator of Mondovisione – The choice was very difficult because the average quality was high on the 28th at the Rosmini space with rock, blues, folk and jazz sounds performances will range from pop to rock, from country to psychedelic music, up to songwriting moments and metal tributes, in the evocative settings of Piazza San Pietro Martire, Piazza San Paolo, Arengario and this year for the first time also in Piazza Duomo – continues -. The Duomo will be an “acoustic stage” of soloists or duo groups who will excite with more intimate sounds. The last evening at Liberthub will close the festival in style with electronic and rock sounds.

Among the artists of the 90 bands participating in the festival, around twenty are from Monza and around 90 from the province of Monza and Brianza, making up approximately a third of the total, while the remainder mainly come from the provinces of Milan, Como and Bergamo. In addition to the Lombard bands, a band from Verbania, one from Jesi, one from Naples, one from Modena, one from Padua, one from Savona and one from Tivoli will perform. With the addition of Piazza Duomo, the center squares involved go from 3 to 4 compared to last year and the music stations from 9 to 14. The hours of music offered also double, thanks to the opening hours 6-12pm, instead of 9pm. 24. “With the Monza Live Sound Festival – observes the councilor for culture, Arianna Bettin – we want to bring music back to its collective dimension, offering an opportunity to the many emerging bands in the area to ideally come out of the basements, rehearsal rooms and garages to bring them to the surface.
