ANCONA – As expected, the heat wave brought by the African Anticyclone has arrived in the Marche region. For tomorrow and Thursday the Ministry of Health has issued the orange sticker for the city of Ancona, which provides for the alert of health and social services for meteorological conditions that may represent a health risk, especially for the most susceptible population (in particular elderly, children and chronically ill).
The regional Civil Protection has issued a bulletin for heat waves which foresees the orange sticker for Ascoli Piceno and Fabriano for tomorrow (Fabriano) and Thursday 20 June (for both cities where temperatures could reach the perceived 38 degrees.
«We find ourselves in a very particular situation – explains the professor Giorgio Passeriniprofessor of Environmental Technical Physics at the Polytechnic University of Marche – the African Anticyclone has positioned itself under the Po which will bring temperatures up to 40 degrees between Thursday and Saturday in the Marche region also on the coast».
Between tomorrow, June 19, and Saturday June 22, «there will be days when it will be really hot, with scorching temperatures. From the weekend, however, the picture should change due to the entry of low pressure which should also touch the Marche region, bringing rain and a drop in temperatures which will reach values more typical of the period”.
The worsening, explains Professor Passerini, could arrive from Sunday, while in the previous days the mercury will rise even to the minimum values bringing hot nights with temperatures even up to 23-24 degrees.
