WEDGE NEWS – A general assembly of the neighborhood was held in the parish hall of Borgo San Giuseppe in Cuneo. Present were the mayor Patrizia Manassero and the councilors Paola Olivero, Sara Tomatis, Cristina Clerico, Alessandro Spedale, Gianfranco De Michelis, Andrea Girard, Luca Serale. Also present were the city councilors Pittari, Ettore Grosso, Santina Isoardi and Monica Pellegrino. The mayor introduced by explaining a new dedicated page to be able to follow the projects and their progress. Serale illustrated the planned interventions on the hamlet, representing that Borgo Gesso is a connection with the plateau as is Madonna dell’Olmo on the Stura side of the city.
THEIn via Rocca de Baldi the new unified school for elementary and middle school will be built (currently with 463 students), in which there will be a library, an auditorium, a gym and all those features typical of modern structures such as photovoltaics, bioclimate, efficiency energy, anti-seismic adaptation, overcoming architectural barriers.
End of work, March 2026. All for a cost of €12,600,952. Spedale then illustrates another intervention in the EX ONPI area (formerly Residenza Bisalta), it is a Multi-social Center with 42 housing units distributed as follows: 22 for students; 12 for seniors; 2 for disabled people; 6 for fragile families. The works will begin in July for a duration of 540 days and a cost of €9,201,758.
Serale then spoke about gentle mobility and cycling with interventions to build safe crossings, cycle paths towards Spinetta and a roundabout on Via Vecchia Ferrovia plus two crossings. Still in the school area, with a school project at the centre, the construction of public spaces in front of them with an expected expenditure of €864,327, through the widening of pavements, bicycle racks, one-way traffic on Via Bergia, a square crossing and a school bus stop in via Rocca de Baldi.
Girard talks about the installation of intelligent poles equipped with digital connections for a total amount of €825,109.44. The operation will be carried out on both Confreria and Borgo San Giuseppe. These intelligent areas will also be equipped with video surveillance, digital totems and electric charging stations. Video surveillance will be placed mainly on via Rocca de Baldi to ensure the safety of school construction sites. A further expenditure of €270,000 was allocated for a feasibility study on the road system near the Citroen.
