Dronero, over 200 teachers arrived from all over Piedmont for a day of training

They have hosted 200 teachers, coming from much of Piedmont, the province of Cuneo, Asti, Alessandria and also from Val Susa and Pinerolo.

From 8.30am to 4pm the teachers present took part in different workshops. Team activities followed one another starting from the philosophy from which theAppreciative Inquiry, the methodology used for managing company employees which aims to improve their collaboration and motivation. It is not necessary to look for resources far from us to achieve a desired goal, but we need to see in those around us all the positive abilities and talents which, if appropriately developed, will lead to its achievement. The teachers got involved by trying to change their point of view, starting not from solving problems, but from finding the positive within their teams to bring innovation and creativity to their schools. The psychology laboratory it was presented as a “vehicle of responsibility and well-being”. Being responsible for growing up means feeling the desire to explore reality, to become architects of one’s own destiny, to intervene in situations outside the school and on real issues as protagonists. Being a good teacher does not simply mean transmitting knowledge but also being able to convey it in the right way. Learning is closely linked to human interaction and communication, in order to equip the student with useful tools in society and in the practice of socialization. The fundamental role of the teacher is closely linked to the ability to communicate effectively with the class to create an environment that allows the child to feel good. The workshop provided teachers with food for thought on strategies to achieve well-being in the relationship between student and teacher: through ice-breaking games and role playing the teachers experimented with school teaching methods without backpacks by getting involved in an active and participatory way. Also very interesting laboratory on physical well-being held by a triathlete, a physiotherapist and a SUISM graduate teacher specialized in pilates. Activities and exercises to do in class with the children were proposed to the teachers. And again the laboratory with the communication expert, Maria Cioila, who guided teachers on a path entitled: “wellbeing at school: breaking the mold in relationships”. Using eyes, hands and feet as images, teachers were helped to reflect on the importance of non-verbal language within communication and on which resources to base their work on to be and teach to be “antifragile”. Antifragile is someone who manages to accept the challenges and trials of life to change their existence and make it better, for themselves and for others.
