CASERTA – Close to the summer solstice (which this year will fall on Thursday 20 June at night), the Caserta Planetarium resumes its traditional free openings.

In fact, for Friday 21 June 2024 7pm And 8.15pm two rounds of visits are planned (one replica of the other). THEFree entry (maximum 50 people per shift)

booking required from this link:

The absolute protagonists of the event will be the students of class 4O (applied sciences) of the Liceo Scientifico “A. Diaz” of Caserta.

Half of the class (in turns) will guide the museum tour. 10 students will narrate (in turn) in the dome the 5 short show modules built on black holes, pulsars, life beyond Earth, celestial mechanics, paradoxes.

In fact, the event will be the conclusion of the PCTO “Planetario” project.

«The PCTOs (Paths for Transversal Skills and Orientation, formerly Alternanza Scuola Lavoro) are compulsory training for all secondary school students» recalls Pietro Di Lorenzo, teacher at the “Diaz” high school and head of the educational service of the Planetarium , «and are experienced as a useless constraint which too often sees students participating as passive listeners/spectators of actions, frustrating their curiosities and personal inclinations. For this reason, the Planetarium, after an initial part of training common to the whole class on museology and museum management topics, has decided to leave everyone the choice of path between communicating the Planetarium museum exhibition outside the dome and conception, planning and live narration execution of a show module in the dome”.
«The narration of the museum tour was further divided into three actions» specifies Professor Carla Bassarello, ISISS “Buccini – Ferraris” Marcianise teacher and educator-narrator of the Planetarium for 7 years. «Everyone experimented with in-person communication by welcoming visitors, assisting them and guiding them through the interactive exploration of our museum itinerary. Some have favored digital communication for social media by preparing posts (with audio and images) on scientific content linked to the museum collection. 6 students chose to perfect communication by acquiring special skills for inclusion.”

The action is included (at zero cost to the budget) in the PNRR Planetarium project financed by the Ministry of Culture and implemented by the Municipality of Caserta.
