BARI – Renato Zero’s new tour started this evening from Bari at 9pm sharp, with a completely sold-out evening, «Self-portrait – The event concerts»a live tour which for the opening evening at the Arena della Vittoria (there will be an encore on Sunday 16th) finds itself in the headlines due to its proximity to the media center of the G7 taking place these days, set up in the spaces of the Fiera del Levante. In fact, it is not excluded that some journalists (the spaces are open 24 hours a day to allow connections with the whole world, respecting every time zone) managed to enjoy the set list of songs that have marked the more than fifty-year musical career of Renato Zeroamong great classics and rare pearls, together with those contained in the album «Autoritratto», published last December for Tattica.

«The South has always given me the joy of a sincere and participatory public, so I return with the desire to get excited and excite – he said Renato Zero on the eve of the concert – Appearing on stage is like a new baptism every time, between the need to prove to myself that I have grown and the need to always give the public something of mine that is surprising, hopefully, and worthy of deal with today’s reality. For these concert-events I opted for the essential, not because I want to offer less to the public, but because synthesis is reasonably part of the maturation process of a man and an artist, and I believe the time has come – even the times they suggest – to take a look at important and profound things, at messages that are truly incisive”.

The show, conceived, written and directed by Renato Zero himself, sees the presence on stage of Danilo Madonia for musical direction, keyboards and piano; Lorenzo Poli on bass, Lele Melotti on drums, Bruno Giordana for keyboards and sax, Rosario Jermano on percussion, Andrea Maddalone and Fabrizio Leo on guitars, together with a 10-voice choir and a 40-piece orchestra directed by Maestro Adriano Pennino. The scenography is by Igor Ronchese and Gigi Maresca, the light design by Francesco De Cave and the engaging visuals are directed by Younuts! (Antonio Usbergo and Niccolò Celaia).
