An educational campus on energy efficiency: twinning between the Itsee of L’Aquila and the “Caffè” Institute of Rome – Virtù Quotidiane

L’AQUILA – Discover the reconstruction sites and promote, even beyond the region, the knowledge of the post-diploma high training school on the subject of energy efficiency, and of the professional figures it helps to train. This is the objective of the educational training campus promoted by the Higher Technical Institute for Energy Efficiency (Itsee) of L’Aquila which, from 17 to 21 June, involves fifteen students from the “Federico Caffè” technical institute of Rome in meetings, seminars and guided tours of the city and construction sites.

On the opening day, which was held at the Palazzo dell’Emiciclo, headquarters of the Abruzzo Regional Council and a virtuous example of sustainable reconstruction with zero emissions, a photovoltaic and geothermal system, speakers Mara Lagliapresident of the Its Energy Efficiency Foundation of L’Aquila, Charles Emperorcourse director of the institute, Antonio Filipoueducational coordinator, Elisabetta De Marcoprofessor and head of orientation at the Roman technical institute, the director of the regional council Paolo Costanzi and, via web link, the parents of the children who followed the orientation.

Also present for institutional greetings and to tell the kids about the reality of ITS, Roberto Santangeloregional councilor with responsibilities for professional training, education, research, universities and social policies.

“This campus is a way to make our reality known both as regards ITS and the city – stated Laglia -. For five days we will host the students of the ‘Caffè’ Institute of Rome, who attend various classes, from the second to the fourth year of high school, and various diploma courses. In particular, those who are here are future surveyors and industrial experts, who are the professional figures we turn to most for the continuation of our studies, even if Itsee is open to all and can be accessed with any diploma”.

“During these five days of campus the students will do different activities – added the president -: they will follow seminars on topics relating to energy efficiency, they will take guided tours of the construction sites of our city under reconstruction, of the Paganica hydroelectric power plant, and they will have the opportunity to admire the beauty of the city also from a historical-architectural point of view. The first day we started with an introductory and informative part inside the underground room of the Hemicycle, and then the kids visited the photovoltaic systems, heat pumps and geothermal systems of the Abruzzo regional council”.

“The participants, Roman students and teachers, are very happy with this proposal and we have already made a memorandum of understanding, again with the Istituto Caffè, to bring another hundred young people with the same goals next year,” he said. concluded Laglia.

“Focusing on higher education, on technical training, is the right way to create employment and give hope to the young people of the future – declared councilor Santangelo -. The ITS of L’Aquila is a unique institute of its kind in Italy and has a great strength which is that of attracting students even from outside the region and this campus with students visiting the capital proves it”.
