The Minister of Economy arrived in Cremona in the early afternoon Giancarlo Giorgetti for a meeting with the economic categories at the Industrial Association of Cremona and to support the candidacy for mayor of Alessandro Portesani.
Doing the honors will be the president of the Industrial Association of Cremona, Stefano Allegri. A meeting with all categories, which lasted just over an hour, where all national, European and local issues were addressed: debt, growth, young people, with the actions that must be implemented in the next months.
Among the topics addressed, that of labor,” a serious topic – commented Giorgetti in front of local and national journalists -. It is also difficult to find qualified labor in these areas. The demographic winter is also affecting a bit here, and a different attitude emerges towards certain types of craftsmanship and trade professions which, however, risk dying out.”
To then face the issue of the Pnrr and the spending review. “I hope that the Municipalities spend the Pnrr funds well and soon. On the spending review everyone is called to make small sacrifices to help reduce taxes on Italians.”
And again, a passage through the historic centres, increasingly deserted. “These cities – said the minister – must find life above all in the historic centres. If there are no commercial activities, like a vicious circle, youth immigration increases, also impoverishing cities like Cremona. We have to let Cremona win.”
And it was precisely on Portesani that the minister said he was convinced of this candidacy: “I believe that here is a candidate not only of exceptional value but also of nature and character who deserves to be helped.”
Portesani himself, thanks to the minister’s presence in Cremona for the second time, explained that “in addition to the support for me, his presence is a sign of attention to the territory, and in the event of victory it could be for me and for the city of Cremona an important point of reference.”
Giorgetti, pressed by journalists, spoke about Italy- Lufthansa. “I think these days he is still working very intensely, hard. Let’s say that the date is set, spouses and witnesses are summoned. Anything can happen. At this moment I think we will get married, but anything can happen. The bride and witnesses are summoned but the Don Abbondio of the situation may not even show up.”
Finally on the nomination game “it was already open, we will calmly go about renewing the positions by choosing the people who can guarantee the projects we have in mind, also on Cdp, where I don’t think there will be any major upheavals”.
