BF Livorno wins the first “Bruno Caroti Memorial”

Bruno Caroti he was a person and a manager loved by everyone, whose courtesy and competence are still remembered by everyone. A tournament was named in memory of this unforgettable manager, the first “Bruno Caroti Memorial”, reserved for Under 16 women’s teams and organized precisely to remember Bruno who left us just over a year ago.

In addition to host Bieffe Livorno, the tournament also saw the participation of CMB Valdarno, Pallacanestro Femminile Pisa and Jolly Acli Livorno. The formula included a single round-robin format, with each team playing all the others, between Friday and Saturday and the finals scheduled for Sunday morning

In the end, the parquet crowned the BF girls, who found the best way to honor the memory of their mentor for years. The girls led by Stefania Luporini, in fact, made a clear progress, winning all four matches played.

In the first match of the group they defeated Jolly Acli Basket in the Labronico derby, a success they then repeated against CMB Valdarno. Two fairly easy successes, with large gaps, before the victory, with a clear 95-23, against Pallacanestro Femminile Pisa.

The trio of victories allowed Gerini and her teammates to snatch their passport for the final, where they found themselves facing the CMB Valdarno; in the final, the Labronica team replicated the success of the group stage, beating the Valdarno team with a clear score of 63-29. To complete the success of the BF, Greta Moni was also nominated as best player of the tournament.

In essence, a great tournament, of which the never forgotten Bruno Caroti would have been proud and, from up there, will certainly have been pleased with the success of the event dedicated to him.
