This year too, the Circolo Acli Dalfino recalls the ancient tradition of the “festival of St. John”, “LA VESCIGGHIE DE SAN GEUANNE”, a festival that highlights the roots of Bari as well as having a great religious and popular value.
THE PROGRAM
THURSDAY 22 June: Promotional tour of the event with the figure of the announcer in the company of the low band “LA BANNE DE LE CHIACUNE” directed by maestro F. GUERRA who, starting from Piazza A. MORO at 6.30 pm, will cover the entire via Sparano. In Piazza ODEGITRIA CATTEDRALE at 8.15 pm the 1st edition of the games of the past will take place: “u gire d0itale, o veruzze, june monde la lune, a sguinge, sack race”.
SUNDAY 23 June at 6.30 pm there will be a guided tour dedicated to San Giovanni: you will see Piazza San Giovanni, where the first vigil took place, the church where the Byzantine rite of San Giovanni Chrysostom takes place, some aedicules of San Giovanni, the characteristic alleys of old Bari. The walk will be animated by ‘LA BANNE DE LE CHIACUNE’. At 8.15 pm in Piazza Cattedrale Odegitria the festival will begin with a performance by the ‘MILITIA SANCTIS NICOLAI’ group among various tastings such as the traditional dish ‘LE MENIUCCHIE CU SUGE CHE LE COTECHE and the RECOTTA MARZOTECHE’, ‘LA CHELUMME (in Italian fioroni) all accompanied by a glass of red wine. This will be followed by a concert by the musical group Stop 21 with 70s/80s music and songs by Carosone.and many other guests.
