Caserta

The Municipality of Caserta has obtained funding of approximately 2.6 million euros, which will allow the creation of a nursery for 108 children in a municipally owned building located in via Martiri di Bellona. Three weeks ago the project was approved by the council, which involved participation in a tender from the Ministry of Education and Merit to access Pnrr funds for the construction of a nursery school. The resources have been allocated and the Administration will now be able to continue the process that will lead to the creation of this important work. The allocation in via Martiri di Bellona has a particular significance, considering the fact that this property has experienced a long period of abandonment and was also occupied illegally in the past.

The intervention, worth approximately 2.6 million euros, falls within the scope of the Pnrr, Mission 4 (Education and Research – Component 1: Strengthening the offer of education services: from nurseries to universities), and in particular Investment 1.1: “Plan for nurseries and nursery schools and early childhood education and care services”.

“Already three weeks ago, when we approved the project at the council – explained the mayor of Caserta, Carlo Marino – we were very confident and convinced that we would be able to obtain the financing. With these resources, the community will reclaim a space of great importance, which will be transformed into a nursery school of considerable size, which will be able to respond in the best way to the needs of many families. Let’s recover a property owned by the municipality, saving it from abandonment and degradation and build a nursery which, like all the other schools we are building or redeveloping, will be modern and functional”.
