A resolution that provides for changes and additions to the building regulations currently in force in the Municipality of Padua. The regulation, approved on 17 February 2020, was conceived as a dynamic tool, capable of adapting to frequent legislative changes, both state and regional, which concern the construction sector.

“The adaptation of the Building Regulations arose from the need to update our provisions to technical innovations and the evolution of the sector to combine two main objectives, on the one hand the ecological transition through the efficiency of our building stock and on the other the protection of the historical architectural features in particular of the historic centre. – comments the councilor for private construction Antonio Bressa – All this, however, in the name of simplification through guidelines that will allow for greater clarity for the professionals who must accompany clients in planning choices and in presenting the practices to the Municipality. For this reason we have also worked together with the professional associations to arrive at solutions that are as shared as possible. Furthermore, on this occasion we also collected and made suggestions and requests from commercial operators and other public bodies.”

The changes proposals are necessary to solve interpretative problems and introduce new provisions in response to recent regulatory changes.

Among the main innovations are the introduction of guidelines to promote greater clarity and stimulate a more uniform presentation of practices by professionals. The redefinition of the limits for the installation of pergolas, pergolas and panoramic windows, products that are increasingly widespread on the market which clashed with some impediments foreseen by the building regulations and for which the necessary precautions in terms of landscape and historical-architectural protection remain intact .
The possibility of installing photovoltaic panels both integrated and above the roof pitch. For the historic center, operational indications have been introduced in order to identify solutions that do not alter the architectural characteristics of the building.
The introduction of general clarifications and additions aimed at facilitating the recovery of the existing building heritage, also encouraging the inclusion of new technologies in a manner compatible with the aesthetic characteristics of the buildings.
The possibility of covering cars in the external car parks of dealerships with permeable anti-hail nets.
The identification of the mechanism for renewing verandas/dehors on public land through the opinion of the technical sectors involved.
The exclusion of the application of the building regulations on public buildings and buildings of general interest in order to avoid interference with projects defined on the basis of specific sector provisions.
