TURIN. He is straddling the window frame. Her little girl is clinging to her, tied to her back with a scarf. An extreme attempt to save herself from her violent husband. It happened on Sunday, when agents of the Public Prevention and Rescue Office of the State Police (UPGeSp) arrested a foreign citizen for attempted murder.
The police were called by a passer-by who, during a lunchtime walk, he saw the woman and the little girl on the windowsill of the mezzanine floor of the building, in danger. The man talks to her, helps her get off. He saves her and her daughter. And he warns the agents of what happened.
Arriving at the apartment where the couple lives, the police find a foreign citizen. “Where is your family?” The man denies the argument that occurred a few moments earlier. “My wife went for a walk,” he tells the officers. But passers-by heard the screams coming from that very apartment.
While the Flying Squad agents are in the house, the woman returns to the house, evidently in shock and con the beginning of a hematoma on the right cheekbone. She talks about her quarrel with her husband, the insults, the beatings. And of the desperate escape with her daughter.
According to reconstructions, the man punched her during yet another argument. It was then that she, scared, tried to escape from the house, taking her daughter with her. Her husband tried to stop her, forcefully squeezing her neck with his forearm until she could hardly breathe. He tries to strangle her. But she manages to free herself, climb out the window and scream for help.
The victim was taken to hospital, has a fracture of the larynx with a prognosis of more than 40 days. The man was arrested.
