The Lombardy Region allocates 23.8 million euros for families in difficulty

Lombardy Region allocates 23.8 million euros to help poor families or families in proven economic difficulty who live in public housing. Of these, 2,165,135 euros were allocated to Busto Arsizio (of which 1,017,613 euros for the UOG of Varese and its province, 497,981 for the UOG of Como, 649,540 euros for the UOG of Monza Brianza), to which are added 508,524 euros for the municipalities of the province of Varese.

It is a solidarity contribution intended for families who are in such economic conditions as to not allow them to bear the costs of social rental, i.e. the sum between the rent and the costs for condominium services (central heating, cleaning of common areas, greenery maintenance). The measure was approved by the regional council on the proposal of the councilor for housing and social housing, Paolo Franco. The resources are directly entrusted to the Aler and the Municipalities, i.e. the bodies that own the public housing.

COUNCILOR FRANCO: HELP FOR THE WEAK SEGMENTS OUR PRIORITY – “With resources from its own budget – says councilor Franco – The Lombardy Region provides fundamental support for vulnerable sections of the population: helping them is absolutely our priority, as demonstrated by the increase in funds allocated. An answer, ours, the result of consultation and sharing with all those responsible for the match. We help those who are unable to pay the expenses due to objective and proven situations. The benefit intervenes to support those who live in Aler homes and those who live in municipal homes, offering overall protection for honest citizens who need to feel close to the institutions. The amount of resources higher than the previous year testifies to the great and constant commitment of the Lombardy Region to support housing for the most needy”. ù

The approved act has a total value of 23.8 million euros, of which 14.3 million euros destined for the Aler and 6.6 million destined for the Municipalities. The funds were allocated proportionally to the assets managed by the institutions. While 2.9 million euros are already available to the Municipalities as a ‘residual share’ from previous years: in this sense the Region asks them to provide quickly. Overall, the total resources are approximately 900,000 euros higher than those allocated last year.
