“In ASL BT, in the last few days – they continue Remini and Marzano – we witnessed a “ballet” of communications which first indicated an amount for additional services, which were then immediately corrected in peius because it seems they were recalled by the Health Department of the Puglia Region for failure to comply with regional provisions, and then retraced their steps after the intervention of the FP CGIL which underlined the possibility that many employees would have revoked their availability considering the step backwards implemented by the Strategic Direction. In short, a mess that was resolved just on the eve of the opening of the G7 thanks to the decisive intervention of the Puglia Region which with a subsequent note, to remedy the “mess” that had now caused the ASL BT, was forced with a note of clarification sent to the general management of the AASSLL and the AUO Policlinico di Bari, to review their position and pending a forthcoming union agreement (on which in truth the unions are still waiting for the approval of the measure to adjust the amounts on additional services for the waiting lists, as required by current legislation, and confirmed on several occasions by the Director of the Health Department of the Puglia Region on the imminent approval), granted the adjustment of the amounts to be attributed to staff for the provision of additional services. The true fact of this story is that the Strategic Management of the ASL BT, led by the General Director Tiziana Dimatteo, was promptly concerned with guaranteeing effective healthcare to the powerful people of the G7, deciding autonomously and with “large capacity” managerial authority to increase the amounts without waiting for indications from the Region, indeed ignoring them (unlike the General Directors of other healthcare companies), while a similar spirit of initiative is not applied in favor of the citizens of the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani with regards to additional services to reduce waiting lists. For this reason, we now ask the General Director of the ASL BT, Dr. Tiziana Dimatteo, to fully fulfill her task, ensuring certain and acceptable times to guarantee the right of care to citizens through additional services (ensuring equal treatment to employed staff) and above all by immediately implementing the employment plan approved by the Puglia Region, proceeding promptly with the recruitment of the staff envisaged therein, considering that new hires are already established in this Plan from 1 July 2024, so as not to jeopardize the good functioning of the services, given the approach of the summer period during which the staff legitimately has the right to benefit from the well-deserved rest through the institution of holidays. We’ll just have to see if at least this time the Management will hit the target, immediately communicating the adjustment of the amounts for the additional services necessary to reduce the waiting lists and above all to recruit staff starting from 1 July 2024″ .
